*no spoilers in this review* I've been reading A.G. Riddle's books since the first one came out. I'm never disappointed. His books are always well researched and well written. I enjoy reading them because while they are clearly fiction they contain enough nonfiction elements to make it seem like yea, ok, this could maybe happen.This book also has a deeper meaning which I picked up on maybe halfway through the book which had me reading through the rest of the story with a deeper sense than just what is on the surface. I sincerely hope that others pick up on this too. I love that this author can turn his feelings and things that are going on in his life and create a story out of them and use it to reach out to others who may be in a similar situation. Make sure to read the Author's Note at the end of the book. Buy this book, you won't be disappointed. Can't wait for book #2.
Another great book from A.G. Riddle. The book captures you from the first page and it is vitally impossible to put the book down. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I enjoyed immensely the spellbinding story and the masterful weaving of science and drama.While some of the ‘tech’ seems a little more advanced than our current abilities (or maybe not ... the government seems to always have Some advances in science that they have yet to share) it is a plausible story line that showcases both the fragility of our physical existence and the will to prevail and fight in our human nature.Riddle’s depiction of their alien attack and our resolve at a defense is exciting and hard to put down. My only negative point is that book two is not yet ready! I wasn’t ready to leave the story.
I have read all of AG Riddle's books and immensely enjoyed all of them. I always compare his books to Michael Crichton because Mr. Riddle also takes cutting edge and just-around-the-corner scientific discoveries and lets his imagination run wild! Unfortunately, since Mr. Crichton can no longer give us great science fiction, I, for one, am happy to let Mr. Riddle take his place.This was a very engrossing book. The two main characters, Emma and James, are very believable, well written characters. You really root for them, both in their personal challenges and in their quest to save the world. This book focuses more on the interpersonal relationships of all the characters rather than science, science, science like Riddle's previous books, but that just made it a more interesting book to read. My only complaint is that I have to wait for the conclusion!The last thing I'll say is that I read other well-established authors and many of their latest books have felt like they were written to a deadline: rushed, forced, and unbelievable. And I've usually paid $9-$15 for them. I've never felt that way about any of AG Riddle's books. I always get a great book at a great price.

He is a one-of-a-kind genius who also happens to be in Federal prison for the rest of his life.Emma Matthews is a geneticist and a crew commander of the International Space Station.Both become valuable contributors on a dangerous mission to find out what's blocking the Sun and throwing Earth into the next Ice Age.I was surprised by this book. I guess I didn't read the blurb thoroughly enough. I thought this book was mainly going to be post-apocalyptic about the Earth freezing over. And it was - but that takes a backseat to the space saga. Probably at least 2/3 of this story takes place in Space or preparing to go into Space.I was okay with the sci fi space story. I enjoy these types of books also. The book was well written and had plenty of brave, selfless characters. The story was full of "tech talk" as the intrepid adventurers strive to save Earth.Another thing I didn't notice was that this is the first book in a two-part series. It had a fine ending and could be a standalone in my opinion. But a second book THE SOLAR WAR is due out June 25, 2019.If you enjoyed the disaster movies THE CORE and ARMAGEDDON, I am sure you'll enjoy this tale.

It's a riveting story and I devoured it in two days.Riddle writes of a world overcome by snow and ice. What's causing it? That's what teams of scientists want to know so they can stop it. Each team is made up of experts in their fields, shooting off into space to see what's blocking the sun.Because of our proximity to doom due to climate change, this story will resonate with everyone. The situations are plausible, and the characters believable.I've already warned my husband that book two in the series will be out in a few months. I don't want to wait but it will give me time to prepare and freeze some meals for him!
