Raymond J. Devettere is a professor of philosophy at Emmanuel College where he directs the values-based education program and serves on the institutional review board. He taught health care ethics at Boston College for twenty-five years and is a member of the institutional review board at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Well the price was much cheaper on Amazon and I had to buy it for my Baccalaureate Nursing Program. A very interesting read on medical ethical situations. I learned so much from this book and will certainly pass it on to another nursing student!

I had the sincere privilege of taking a health care ethics class from Raymond Devettere while at Boston College. This is without exception the most illuminating book of my entire academic career. Not a day goes by that I don't remember the message of the book and ethic that Dr. Devettere teaches. This book, 2 years after I have read it remains the best book I have ever read.
